Plaque 17
The War Memorial
Awarded a supplementary plaque in 2016
This plaque is different from the others in that it supplements the list of soldiers lost during World War One (‘The Great War’). These extra 17 names are of men who died after the war but as a result of injuries received.
The War Memorial itself was erected in 1919 on land donated for the purpose by Lord Masham with the lower panel added after the Second World War.
